Selected for 'Find a Maker'
My application for 'Find a Maker' has been successful. I will join some of the most talented makers on the 'Find a Maker' website. Over the years I have exhibited at a number of Contemporary Craft events organised by CRAFT Festival, so I'm delighted to be part of this craft community.
Adam is Awarded a Fellowship by the Society of Designer Craftsmen
Adam Hussain is awarded a fellowship by the ‘Society of Designer Craftsmen’ in London. This award recognises his achievements in the discipline of kiln-formed Glass. It celebrates the excellent quality of his handmade work and commitment to craft. The society said that Adam’s work enables the Society to show future generations of makers what is possible with a dedication to craft.
The ‘SDC’ is the oldest multi-disciplinary Society in the UK, it has some of the finest, most exciting and respected designer makers of today and since founding in 1887. The Society has some of the most prominent names in design and craft as past members, including William Morris and Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Adam said “I am so pleased about becoming a fellow of the Society, I have been a member since graduating in 2008. I’ve exhibited my artworks at ‘SDC’ exhibitions around the UK, including at ‘The Mall Galleries’ in London on a number of occasions. Its a wonderful Society to be a member of, as the quality of the craftsmanship from its members is outstanding”
